Beginners' Course Content
The following is a rough outline of the beginners' course, giving you an idea of what to expected over the four weeks. If you have any questions regarding the course, please contact our beginners' liaison at beginners@royalrichmond.com.
Week 1: we will explain the principles of archery (how to hold the bow, how the arrow flies), we will measure each person and allocate suitable equipment and start shooting at targets.
Week 2: we will refresh your memories on the technique of how to shoot, and do more target shooting. We will vary the length of shooting distance from 20 yards to 30 yards to progress the archer.
Week 3: we will hone your technique and hopefully all students will be able to shoot up to 30 yards.
Week 4: you should be at a suitable level to be able to join the club and carry on developing your shooting technique.
Once you have completed your beginner’s course, the club would like to invite you to a social fun shoot. On Sunday July 6th at 12.30. The theme of this event will be Superheroes, so come and shoot all your favourite superheroes and villains. We will be providing you with the chance to try your newly learned skills and we will also be giving you the opportunity to meet the other members of the club. This fun shoot is free for you to enter and there will be a barbeque and drinks.
